Former S41 Local Magazine contributor Jennie Sim, has opened her own family restaurant in their home village of Wingerworth and it's going down a storm.
We were lucky enough to be invited to the friends and family night back in October and got to sample some of Jennie's fantastic home made Mexican recipes.
Jennie has always had a passion for cooking and it shows in her delicious dishes. Over the space of an hour Jennie treated to us several of her fabulous recipes, my favourite being the Mexican inspired mac and cheese. It wasn't until I had cleaned my plate that Jennie told me it was vegan! Who would have thought that vegan cheese would taste so good?
Translated into English 'Cocina Familar' means family kitchen and this is precisely what it is. Front of house and clearly loving helping their mum out are Ryder and Bobbie-Eve, welcoming customers with a big smile and showing them to their seats. Jack of all trades and mainly just doing as he is told is Jennie's husband, Mark.
With Jennie's talent in the kitchen and support from the family I can't see this scrumptious venture being anything but a huge success.
Did I mention they do a mean breakfast Burrito as well?
