Ashgate Hospicecare’s 'Forget-Me-Not Appeal'
Hundreds of extra steel forget-me-not flowers are being made to cope with the demand after Ashgate Hospicecare’s Forget-Me-Not Appeal became a sell-out success.
Since its launch, more than 2,400 flowers have been dedicated in memory of someone special, with hundreds more now on order.
The appeal, sponsored by Graysons Solicitors, provides supporters with a way to celebrate, mourn and remember their loved ones. For a suggested donation of £25, supporters will receive a custom made, beautifully crafted forget-me-not flower, to pay a lasting tribute to friends and family.
More than 1,000 of the limited-edition flowers have been on display in the picturesque grounds of Chatsworth.
Jack Wood, Head of Fundraising at Ashgate Hospicecare, said: “I would like to thank Chatsworth for supporting the campaign and hosting the display in their stunning grounds.
“I would also like to thank the thousands of supporters who have donated in memory of someone special. This is a very special fundraising appeal, as each flower represents the life of someone who is loved and missed.
“The appeal has far surpassed any expectations we had, and we hope it continues to flourish over the next month.
“We are incredibly proud to be able to offer our community a place to remember their loved ones in a meaningful way.”
Ashgate hopes the community will continue buying the flowers, which they will then receive a little later in the year. Supporters are encouraged to donate for a flower now for delivery in September.
The suggested donation is £25 and money raised will be used to fund Ashgate’s round-the-clock specialist end-of-life care.
