Pump & Grind's charity night with a difference
Words & images: Bekah Anstey
I headed down to Pump & Grind this month to support the team in raising funds for the wonderful Mind Charity. They held an event called Frocktails that involved an evening of fun, fashion and cocktails. They had some amazing cocktails on offer called Emmeline, Sink the pink and Apples & Pears - £1.00 from every cocktail went to Mind. My favourite had to be Sink the Pink – filled with pink gin, raspberry, lemon, cranberry and sherbet it was perfect for that momentary heat wave we had!
I got to meet some great local businesses, one of which was called Salteria. Beth is the owner and she had some wonderful little bags and accessories available – great birthday gifts or just a little treat for a loved one! Beth Salt set up her business back in 2017 after studying Art at Leeds and travelling around Australia (lucky lady), she’s been inspired by sea-life and botanicals which is clear in her designs, she’s simply a lovely local lady trying to turn her passion into a business. You can find her wonderful creations at Bloom Beauty in Chesterfield (pop in and have a manicure with Emma while you’re there), Studio 1 in Hasland.
I also got to meet Laura Karin – fashion stylist and blogger who had some top tips and bargains on offer from new branded clothing, vintage pieces and lots of glitter! Laura had this to say:
‘this event is very important to me as it’s close to my heart, I would love to raise some funds for Mind but it’s also about raising awareness for the charity. There’s a stigma around mental health and by running these events we can help to change that’
