Hipper District Girlguiding

As clubs, groups and societies start to meet up face to face again Beckie Jones gives us an update on our local Rainbows, Brownies and Girl Guides. If your youngsters want to get involved, please take a look and get in touch with your local group.

Where and when do Rainbows, Brownies and Guides meet?

Groups in the Hipper District meet in the Walton area, there are groups on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings.

What do we do?

We introduce girls to a world of new opportunities, challenges and fun. Girls go along to camps, holidays, day trips and sleepovers. They get together with their friends at regular meetings where they learn new hobbies, get creative, develop skills and have outdoor adventures. As well as trying activities in their meetings, girls choose badges related to things they want to know more about. Based around having fun, Girlguiding is modern, exciting and helps girls to develop confidence.

Do you go on trips?

Yes, we regularly have events that girls can attend outside their usual meetings, one night sleepovers for Rainbows, weekend camps for Brownies and lots of more adventurous activities for Guides including paddle boarding, outdoor cooking and climbing. We also have days trips to different places where Rainbows, Brownies and Guides are invited to come along with their unit and meet girls from other units and sections for a day of fun!

My daughter has additional needs, can she still join Girlguiding?

Yes, of course!! We have wellbeing and adjustment plans to ensure everyone is included in Girlguiding. Lots of our leaders already have personal, professional or guiding experience supporting girls and young women who have SEND (Special Education Needs and/or Disabilities), come and join the fun!

How can I get my daughter involved?

Whether it's Rainbows (4-7), Brownies (7-10), Guides (10-14) or Rangers (14-18), start her Girlguiding journey by heading to www.girlguiding.org.uk

Begin by registering her interest and finding out about units in your area.

Adventure, fun and friendship starts here.

Girlguiding is unique

We offer a safe, welcoming girl-only space for girls and young women to try new things, help other people and discover their passions and talents. All while having fun with a ready-made group of friends!

We're dedicated to girls leading the way – they choose the activities, challenges and events that inspire them, and our volunteers support them to make it happen. Because girls shape and lead everything we do, we know that we're offering the best opportunities and experiences for girls today.
