Chesterfield Repair Café:
New Home
Chesterfield Repair Cafe is moving to new premises. They’re going to be at Chesterfield Baptist Church from October onwards, open for repairs from 10am to 1pm, last orders for repairs at 12.30 pm.
The Repair Café will attempt to repair broken or damaged items. Items can be put back into use and given an extended lifespan. This way we also send less waste to landfill and use up fewer resources when replacement items don’t need to be bought. Their repairers can often show you how to repair and maintain your own items, or advise you how to increase their useful lives and how to dispose of them when they cannot be repaired.
To help facilitate the move, they're keen to attract more helpers, not necessarily fixers as they're planning to offer refreshments at the new venue. Any help greatly appreciated. Contact Margaret on repairs@transitionchesterfield.org
Chatsworth Road Medical Centre PPG
The Patient Participation Group (PPG) at Chatsworth Road Medical Centre has been in touch following their AGM. The group held patient surveys from March to October in order to understand views on the service, performance of the practice and to identify areas where improvements might be needed.
As a result, the practice has planned and implemented a number of projects to benefit the patients during 2018/19. Project topics included: - Women’s Heart Matters, Mental Health Wellbeing & Support, and Using Online Services to order repeat prescriptions and book future appointments. Update on these projects are posted on the PPG Notice Board and on the Practice Website as well as producing paper guides.
The next Project will be researching Eye Health and looking at some common eye conditions, particularly those affecting older patients such as Cataracts and Age-Related Macular Degeneration (AMD).
Interested in joining the group? The next meeting is Wed 16 Oct at 4pm at Chatsworth Road Medical Centre. For further info please ask at the Medical Centre Reception who can put you in touch with the PPG Chair or visit the website.
